Hello, my name is Erika Klug and I am currently working as an Intern at Under Armour. Although UA has a couple of locations in MD, I am primarily working at the Tide Point, Baltimore location. I may be going back and forth between Tide Point and the Distribution House, which is located in Pasadena.

My official job title is Learning and Development Intern. I am part of the HR department, however I work closely with the L&D team in particular. In addition to the project I am working on for my practicum (which I will go into below), I am assisting the L&D team with numerous training and development initiatives. These include the development and execution of employee training courses; maintaining training records, online registration system, and database; creating training documentation and keeping an employee intranet resource up-to-date; assisting in the performance management process; and succession planning. I have a lot of work to do, but it is rewarding to finally put all those skills to use!

For my practicum specifically, I am working on a more OB related project. Under Armour has launched an employee engagement survey across certain business units of the company before it launches the survey company-wide. This is the first time UA is exploring this type of issue, so it is interesting to be involved in the first experience, and to help work out the kinks.

Because I have been working since October and have already done some work on the survey, here is what I have done so far. The survey data was collected in mid-November. With the assistance of Dr. Mitchell, data was analyzed and a preliminary report was delivered to my manager, and supervisor of the survey project. Currently we are working on "branding" the survey to be more consistent with UA culture. That process is still in the works, but it has added an element of excitement to the whole project.

I will post another update next week!

-Erika
