Good afternoon,

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the lead human resources agency for the Federal government, has a cooperative educational opportunity available for a student actively engaged in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.  We are recruiting for a Human Resources Specialist (Student Trainee) position under the Student Career Experience Program.  The position will be located in the Standards, Competencies, and Assessment Development (SCAD) Group with OPM's Division for Strategic Human Resources Policy in Washington, DC

We are looking for a talented individual to join our outstanding team of human resources specialists and personnel research psychologists.  The SCAD Group uses data from Governmentwide job analyses to develop classification standards and guides for Federal occupations, and we are currently developing new approaches to evaluating jobs and assessing individual qualifications.  Our team also develops and maintains competency profiles, model assessment tools, and strategies for Federal occupations, and provides technical advice to other organizations within OPM on classification, qualification, competency, and assessment issues.

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience in position classification, strong writing and analytical skills, and be able to apply these competencies to refine and develop the Federal occupational structure.  The grade and pay level of this cooperative education position will be based on the student’s academic achievement and/or experience.  The selected student will receive Federal leave (annual and sick), medical, and retirement benefits.

If you know of anyone who may be interested, please have him or her email a resume to Andrea Bright, Manager of the SCAD Group, at [log in to unmask]">[log in to unmask] or 202-606-3600 by April 15, 2007.
