I represent a Western Maryland board of education that is presently seeking an Executive Director for Human Resources. The job pays quite well for the region, and it is recommended that the candidate have collective bargaining experience as well as experience in the public sector. The job entails overall management of a newly installed HRM system covering one of the county’s largest employers, including both professional and non-professional employees, serving as chief negotiator with a variety of professional and non-professional labor unions, and supervising a staff of human resources employees, including benefits and compensation, labor relations, grievances, recruitment and hiring, and discipline/discharge. It is a challenging and exciting job.
