DIOCESAN HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR

A full-time human resources and benefits specialist is needed at the
Episcopal Diocese of Maryland Diocesan Center in Baltimore beginning
January 1, 2008. The Human Resources Coordinator provides advice and
guidance to 22 diocesan staff employees and approximately 400 clergy
and lay employees within the 118 congregations and several parish
schools of the diocese. This position is responsible for analysis of
available benefits plans and packages, facilitating the formulation
of recommended packages, counseling new clergy and lay employees and
advising on enrollment issues. In addition, this position is
responsible for coordinating various human resources initiatives
arising within the Diocese of Maryland or from the larger Episcopal
Church. The Human Resources Coordinator confers with congregations
within the diocese concerning benefits, personnel and employment
issues; works closely with the Diocesan Compensation and Benefits
Committee and the Safe Church Committee which develops policies and
procedures relating to the prevention of sexual misconduct in the
diocese.

Must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills, and
excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in
benefits administration is required. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access
and Quick Books is essential. Familiarity with the Episcopal Church
and a bachelor's degree are desired. Salary is negotiable
