Fyi. A very good conference to attend, esp if you are interested in an I/O doctoral program.

Subject: 2009 IOOB conference

Dear department head:

As you probably know the 30th Annual IOOB Graduate Student Conference will be hosted by Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago from Friday, February 27 to Sunday, March 1, 2009. This conference provides many opportunities, including a chance for students to present their research in a safe and supportive environment. If possible, please forward this email to all your students.

We would like to invite you to take advantage of the opportunities the Conference can offer you:

1. Present your research
The IOOB Conference provides you with the opportunity of practicing your presentation skills, building your presentations resume, and getting constructive feedback in a supportive environment of students like you! Because the IOOB Conference targets students, as opposed to seasoned researchers and practitioners, there is a good chance of student acceptance in this particular venue. Send us your papers today!

2. Expand your knowledge and meet with key professionals in the field
Besides presenting their own research, students also benefit from workshops and keynote speeches of well-known I/O professionals. Unlike SIOP and similar conferences, the IOOB Conference environment allows for more personal encounters with our keynote and workshop speakers. It is not rare to find students and professionals sit down for lunch or coffee talking about various issues.

3. Network
The Conference is certainly an environment to network and meet others in the I/O field. Indeed, one purpose of the Conference is to connect people. The opportunities vary – from the Networking Social Event that connects “job-givers” and “job-seekers,” to the Saturday night out in which students from all over the country get the chance to meet and mingle.

To top off all of this, this year’s Conference is held in Chicago! You can take the time to enjoy all the city has to offer!

The registration fee is $50 and online registration is now available. The deadline for submitting your paper/proposal is Saturday, December 20, 2008.

If you would like to get more information regarding speakers, hotel accommodations, paper submissions, and registration please visit our website at www.iit.edu/~ioob . In addition, please free to contact us with any questions at [log in to unmask]

We hope to see you in Chicago!
