Karen Drake has nearly 20 years' experience in high-level management for the organizations' human resources component. In her current position, she is assisting the University in the development of strategies for faculty recruitment and retention - a critical area of concern as UB continues to grow and change. Among her areas of expertise is helping employees address work/life balance issues, which is increasingly seen as a top priority in workplaces of all kinds. Drake's previous HR experience includes work for the Peace Corps at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. She holds a master of science degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of Baltimore and a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and International Affairs from Muskingum College in Ohio.
