The intern in this position will serve as a part-time (8-12 hours) contractual volunteer working with the OTD research manager while contributing to the office's innovative research program. Responsibilities vary, but may include: researching tourism to the State of Maryland; collecting, inputting and analyzing primary and secondary data; writing original content for talking points, fact sheets, newsletters, and memos; reviewing and editing reports; and assisting on special projects. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Enrollment in an institution of higher learning. Preferably with a concentration in statistics, public policy, hospitality management, public administration, or business. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proven analytical skills. * Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and/or prioritize. * Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications a must. * Knowledge of database management and data manipulation techniques a plus.
