Subject: Survey Request for distribution to your I/O Alumni

Hello,

I am contacting you in the hopes that you will share the following survey request letter with your I/O program's alumni.  My colleague and I are trying to collect practitioner's experiences with diversity initiatives in order to better inform a commentary we are writing for inclusion in an upcoming issue of the SIOP journal, Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice.  Thank you for your time an consideration, the survey request letter is below.

 SURVEY REQUEST

Dear I/O or HR practitioner,

Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the enactment of the Civil Rights Act. We are working on a study examining diversity practices 50 years after passage of Title VII. We are hoping that you would take about 15 minutes out of your busy schedule to answer a series of questions regarding your organizationīs use of diversity management practices.

We hope to aggregate the results of this survey for a published response regarding the use and reactions to the practices outlined in an article to be published in Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice on discrimination eradication.  Thank you for your time and we hope you will complete our survey as we feel strongly that the voice of practitioners needs to be included in a discussion of diversity policies and practices.

The survey can be found at the following link (https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/IODiversityPractice) and your responses cannot be linked to you in any way.  Additionally, though we ask for general demographic information about your organization and your position in the organization we ask for no specific information, or personal demographics information.  The survey link will remain active through Friday, May 31 at midnight (CST).

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Thank you,
