My name Charles Glover and I am completing my Practicum requirements
through an internship at the Elkton (Stonewall) Merck manufacturing site. I
am working on creating and sustaining a Recognition Program for the site as
well as several other smaller endeavors. I am currently enrolled in the
University of Baltimore’s Applied Psychology Master’s program.

This is my third posting. So far I have been working building a program
which recognizes employees based on their hard work tied to desired
behaviors and innovative ideas to hopefully drive a safety, right first
time, and business goal oriented culture. To reward these individuals, two
avenues have been established through my meetings with the site leadership
team : the leadership card and the success story card. Without getting into
too much detail, these are used to recognize employees, on any level, and
share their successes on an across site level to share and build a more
unified community. I am close to completing the business standard for each
card, and will soon work on a communication across site in different Tier
meetings to promote and provide information about the upcoming recognition
program. Implementation should begin in the 3rd quarter of this year. This
week will be the last week for several interns and this program involves
completing and displaying an individual poster of the achievements and
projects completed during our time here. I have completed my poster and
PowerPoint presentation which will be conducted with the other interns, our
supervisors, the site leadership team and plant manager.

Aside from the recognition program, I have been involved in several other
projects most notably the town hall discussion and leadership forum
meetings where I developed separate surveys for each meeting and assisted
in constructing the PowerPoint’s that would be used by the site leaders.
