Sr. HR Manager (Baltimore, MD)

We are currently seeking a Senior Human Resource Manager for the ARAMARK operation in a multi-unit responsibility role.  States include, MD, VA, NC, TN and District of Columbia – 8accounts, $125million in revenue.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Human Resources Manager will utilize solid business acumen to assertively partner with the management team regarding HR, Staffing, ER/LR, policies/procedures, compliance and general management topics.  He/she is responsible for providing and maintaining extraordinary levels of service through a high level of influence, execution and prioritizing of duties.  The Senior Human Resources Manager will also ensure that all employees working are being treated fairly and correctly under the federal and state guidelines that have been set and that all employees have been trained properly according to corporate, state and federal guideline.

 

This position is responsible for developing, leading and executing in the following areas:

Leads positive employee relations efforts within all facilities.

Leads Performance Review efforts in district.

Conducts annual review of compensation plans for all hourly employees.

Executes staffing and on-boarding processes for hourly and salary (managers, professionals and technicians) positions.

Ensures compliance with corporate/district level policies and federal/state governmental agencies.

Communicates benefits, policy and other HR related changes for district.

Trains and coaches management/supervisory staff in interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, counseling, diversity, disciplinary and regulatory compliance.

Participates with HR Team and others on corporate level projects.

Manages and reports required HR business metrics (diversity, area labor market info, etc.).

Maintains accurate information in electronic and paper employee records.

Conducts wage and employment surveys within area labor market to monitor competitive wage rates and hiring trends.

Actively engages in objective setting at facility level.

Leads resolution of employee relations' issues and conducts investigations as necessary.

Actively participates in safety and environmental projects as required.

Participate in Job Fairs and campus recruiting. (Including culinary schools in the area).

Coordinate all recruiting activities related to staffing of Concession employees and NPO's for events.

Oversee recruitment of Non-Profit Organizations to work throughout the district.

Performance Manage and develop direct reports.

Initiate and process progressive disciplinary actions for all departments.

Direct contact for employment agencies: staffing requirements, billing procedure.

Conduct/facilitate and assist with training of hourly employees: New Hire Orientation, TEAM, HACCP, ServSafe, FOCUS, and On the Job Training.

Attend building safety meetings and ARAMARK safety meetings; help develop incentives for reduction of accidents.

Develop Hourly and NPO incentive and recognition programs to help decrease turnover.

Meet weekly with Human Resource Managers to review updates for the H.R. Department.

Meet with the General Managers to discuss HR issues at the locations..

Track training and hourly paperwork; maintain current employee files for audit purposes.

Develop and maintain Affirmative Action plans at the locations.

Other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the District Manager/General Manager and has a dotted line into the Human Resources Director of the region.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Ideal candidate will possess:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related industry required

8-10 years of experience in a Human Resource Generalist role

PHR/SPHR Certification desired.

Multi-unit experience strongly preferred.

Human Resource experience must include specific employment and recruiting experience.

Experience with matrix reporting and multi-site responsibilities and internal ARAMARK processes a plus.

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is desired.

Must be able to multi-task and have excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels.

Must be willing to work event based hours that include evenings and/or weekends.

Role Requires 50% Travel.

HR Generalist (Baltimore, MD)

 

The Human Resources Generalist/Recruitment Specialist is responsible for coordinating all administrative aspects of HOC’s recruitment and hiring process, for reviewing resumes, qualifying applicant pools and assisting hiring managers during the recruitment process.    The Recruitment Specialist is also responsible for backup to the Benefit Specialist, for maintaining current knowledge of all federal and state legislation concerning human resources-related topics, and for providing guidance to leadership and staff on related issues. 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Strong oral,   written, interpersonal communication skills and effective time management   skills, including the ability to multi-task with attention to details and   deadlines.  Demonstrated commitment to   providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.    Current knowledge of all federal and   state legislation concerning human resources-related topics.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of   education and direct human resources experience.  SPHR or PHR certification strongly desired.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Junior HR Generalist (Hunt Valley, MD) [ShanBrai]

 

Vision Technology Services is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join the Vision team.  This individual will be responsible for providing Human Resources with assistance in organizing and coordinating day-to-day operations and establishing procedures and systems to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

•         Assist in the coordination of programs, procedures, projects and systems to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Company.

•         Organize, maintain and update employee and client information as directed.

•         Process New Hire paperwork and submit to payroll, set up Personnel and Confidentiality Files, enter benefit elections into the system and place orders for background checks, business cards, cookies, HR Train, etc.

•         Keep employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.

•         Prepare and coordinate New Hire Orientation and training packets/materials and conduct New Hire Orientations when requested.

•         Assist with the maintenance, auditing of and validation of information in human resources and finance systems to ensure consistency, accuracy and integrity across systems as well as prepare and generate periodic reports for management, as required and requested.

•         Compose and type correspondence, such as letters, memos and emails as directed.

•         Assist with the planning of social and employee events and luncheons as requested.

•         Back up the Front Desk and perform those duties in the absence of the Front Desk Receptions/Office Assistance or as requested.

•         Files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

•         Executes Exit Interviewing surveys and analysis for follow-up

•         Additional tasks and/or projects as assigned or requested.

Specific Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

•         Ability to work independently or as part of a team within established guidelines and direction.

•         Requires sound judgment, attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and to meet all established deadlines and timeframes.

•         Above average writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact appropriately at all levels within and outside the Organization.

•         Previous experience working with databases, HR and/or payroll systems is preferred.

Education/Experience Requirements:

•         Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in human resources related experience.

•         At least three (3) years related human resources experience with knowledge in employment laws such as HIPAA, Wage and Hour, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc. Knowledge in Immigration Laws is a plus.

This position is responsible for the full scope of Hexis’ human resources and payroll. In particular, the ideal candidate will be able to provide leadership and execution of the following:

Design, plan, and implement HR programs and policies for staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, and health & safety.

Maintain all employee personnel, benefits, payroll, and 401k files.

Strong working knowledge of CheckPoint HR

Responsible for all aspects of US, including expatriate, and international (e.g. Denmark, UK, China, & Brazil) payroll.

Provide day to day medical benefits administration services.

Develop and maintain relationships with functional department heads, their respective management teams, and employees.

Manage onboarding of new employees (e.g.,  issue new computers, create a comprehensive training plan, check-in with new hires, and oversee company integration and first 30 days of required training).

Coach managers and employees at all levels within client groups on a variety of topics including management skills, organizational effectiveness, professionalism, conflict management, and communications.

Provide leadership in the development and implementation of overall HR strategic plans to support the company’s objectives.

Provides expert advice and coaching to senior project and internationally posted staff on all human resource related matters including hiring, termination, performance evaluations, recruitment, employee relations and organizational policy.

Partner with foreign country HR Representatives and project staff in developing country-specific employee handbooks, employment agreements, policies and procedures and performance evaluation systems. Ensures that all policies and documents are compliant with host country employment law.

Orient Expatriate and Third Country National staff to HR international policies and procedure

Oversee, develop and manage compensation structure including grade and salary system, job descriptions, annual increments, equity and cost of living increases.

 

Required Skills:

BA/BS degree and 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources.  A minimum of x years as a Generalist

Experience processing expat/international payroll.

Knowledge of nonresident and foreign income requirements and cost of living standard.

Strong knowledge of US CONUS and OCONUS employment laws and regulations; multi-national knowledge required.

Extensive knowledge of HR policies and practices, compensation and benefits, organization change and effectiveness.

Enjoy working in a startup -- or ready to cut your teeth in one (i.e. worked in an HR function in a company with less than 100 employees for at least 1 year).

Comfortable with learning HR employment laws for other countries (e.g. Denmark, UK, China, & Brazil)

Knowledge of recruiting regulatory standards.  Experience with full-life cycle recruiting desirable.

PHR preferred.

SUMMARY:  This newly created position is responsible for providing strategic Human Resources leadership for the company and setting the direction of the HR Department specifically in the areas of succession planning, compensation, benefits and the implementation of an HRIS database. This position provides overall leadership and guidance to the HR department by leading each of these Human Resources activities.
