Subject: 8 Research Assistant positions at metaBUS (summer 2015)
To: [log in to unmask]

Greetings to all,

I’m posting the following call on EBMGMT because Rob Briner and others have noted the desirability of curating and having easier access to HR research findings. We agree, and our team has been building such a database over the last four years (see link at end of this email to download our legacy database). We'll demonstrate our new online GUI, that acts as a search engine of findings, at SIOP and AOM this year.

Please feel free to forward this message.

Thanks,

Frank

About metaBUS
metaBUS is one of 14 projects to win the National Endowment for the Humanities’ 2013 Digging into Data Challenge, an international consortium of 10 research funders seeking to explore how computationally intensive research methods can be used to ask new questions about and gain new insights into our world. metaBUS is currently funded by the National Science Foundation (U.S.), SHRM Foundation (U.S.), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (Canada), and the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business (Canada). The team is comprised of psychology, management, and computer science scholars who are devising a web application that will (1) enable the semi-automated encoding of millions of individual findings in a multidisciplinary social science research domain, (2) facilitate complex analyses, and (3) enable access to members of the scholar community. Coupled with technological enablements and efforts to expand the scope of the project’s deliverables, metaBUS will lead to an eventual goal – a search engine of research findings that that is updated continuously and provides instant empirical summaries through a variety of dynamic queries and GUIs. Information about the project may be seen at http://www.metaBUS.org.

One may download our legacy database, containing around 150,000 findings, here: http://www.frankbosco.com/data/CorrelationalEffectSizeBenchmarks.html
