This email is to announce that the 2019 OMB Student Internship Program vacancy announcement is live on USAJOBS through March 15th

Please see the posting at the link:  https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/523225000

Internships at OMB, while unpaid, can offer great experience working directly in a critical government agency responsible for developing and producing the President’s annual budget request, coordinating policy among government agencies, and managing the regulatory review and development process.  OMB examiners track legislation, report on issues of interest to senior leadership, and ensure oversight of government agencies and programs.  Examiners often work on tasks that require a quick turn around, but also projects with longer time frames.  The skills involved are directly translatable to thousands of other jobs within federal and state government, making an OMB internship historically one of the most sought after in D.C.

In particular, graduate student internships in the Education, Income Maintenance, and Labor Division (EIML) at OMB can help future civil servants understand what it’s like to work on a federal policy team focused on education, workforce, social welfare, and anti-poverty policy.  Interns would be placed in any of EIML Division’s three branches (Education, Income Maintenance, or Labor) and support OMB staff’s work on education programs, low-income support programs, Social Security, and labor programs.  Students studying public policy, public administration, law, economics, social work, humanities, or business administration are encouraged to apply.  OMB is committed to creating a multicultural and supportive work environment and strongly encourages applications from candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the organization.

We are currently seeking applicants for Summer 2019 and hope to attract a diverse set of candidates to help shape and build the civil service staff at OMB.  If you have any questions and want to be considered for the EIML Division, please email [log in to unmask]All interested applicants should fill out the application at the USA Jobs link included above.

Thank you.
