I apologize for this duplicate posting, but I thought this would be much easier to see to get a handle on the internship.

From Julia Leaman, Customs and Border Patrol. If you know David Hamil, you could ask him about this. He was with CBT for a good while.

Subject: Student Intern Opportunities at U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Tom:
Greetings! I am writing to let you know that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) currently has two Student Internship openings in our Personnel Research and Assessment Division. I would ask that you forward the link below to your Industrial/Organizational graduate students who might be interested in this exciting opportunity.

Our group specializes in personnel selection and supports the assessments used to hire and promote CBP employees. We handle all of the work in-house which gives the student intern the opportunity to get hands on experience in a broad range of areas. I have provided a list of some of our recent projects below.

We are looking for students with strong analytical skills and a desire to learn. At the end of the internship, students may be converted to a permanent position in our group.

The link to apply to the announcement is: https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/356716200

The announcement is open from Tuesday, February 4 through Monday, February 17.

* Survey research and facilitation for high-profile focus group sessions for the

Commissioner of CBP

* Development of alternate predictors for validation research (e.g., short-term memory tests, new biographical data items, innovative personality testing, etc.).

*          Creation of award-winning innovative assessments (e.g., Video-Based Tests,

Multiple-Choice In-baskets, Logic-Based Measurement, etc.).

* Conducting workforce planning research and analysis (e.g., requirement and

gap identification, succession planning, diversity management, skills assessments, etc.).
