 Associate for Human Resources, Hillel International (Washington, DC)

We are looking for someone who enjoys navigating behind the scenes logistics and customer service to be our next Human Resources Associate for Hillel International. The top candidate will use their terrific problem solving and relationship building skills to coordinate searches, help plan and execute high level professional development opportunities and training seminars, and keep the HR team running smoothly. They will work on a six person Human Resources team to recruit, develop and retain highly talented professionals for campus Hillels and Hillel International. The position is located at the Schusterman International Center (SIC), Hillel's International Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

What you'll bring to the job:
A Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of work experience in an office setting.
Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills.
Proven success with work as part of a team.
Familiarity with the Jewish community and genuine respect for the diversity of Jewish life.
Energy, a sense of humor, flexibility and maturity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office suite and social media.

As Human Resources Associate, a typical day may include:
Developing a strategy with a local Hillel Director to find a qualified professional for their staffing vacancy.
Managing and organizing documents, travel, and meetings for Hillel's Vice President for Talent.
Operating Hillel's jobs website, jobs.hillel.org, through posting and editing job descriptions for over 100 North American Hillels annually.
Training local Hillel Directors on how to access, maintain, and utilize internal aspects of Hillel's job website.

What you'll own and how you'll grow:

Talent Recruitment
Train local Hillel and SIC hiring managers on the use of Hillel's online candidate management system and on Hillel's technique for behavioral-based interviewing.
Respond to general inquiries about open positions.
Post and manage job openings via Hillel's online candidate management system, as well as manage internal tracking of job openings and closings.
Engage high potential candidates for entry level searches. This includes skill and fit assessment, as well as proactively stewarding top candidates through the interview process and act as point of contact.
Coordinate visits for Hillel's top executive candidates to Hillel's Schusterman International Center.
Provide technical and administrative support for all aspects of Executive Director searches.
Design and send monthly outreach emails to networking partners in collaboration with Hillel's Talent Recruiter.
Maintain and update HR recruitment materials such as search guides and hiring checklists.

Professional Development
Provide support to Hillel's New Director Coaching Program.
Provide support for coaching and executive training programs and initiatives.
Play a role in the development of August Institute, Hillel's premier
summer training for campus professionals world-wide, as well as Hillel
Institute, Hillel's all staff training and gathering in December.

Support of Vice President for Talent
Work proactively to manage schedule, meetings and travel for Vice President's office.
Coordinate travel and related schedules, including coordinating bookings and associated tasks.
Answer incoming calls and work closely with VP to understand communication priorities and needs.
Prepare, review and proof correspondence and documents.
Accommodate and coordinate special visitors to SIC.
Provide support on special projects, as assigned.
Human Resources General
Collaborate with Hillel's Administration team to execute background checks on incoming employees.
Manage and coordinate HR communications in conjunction with
Information Technology and Communications departments.
Design and manage Hillel's Career Website.
Support Hillel's Human Resources Committee and sub-committees, as necessary.
Participate in HR Team meetings and provide logistical and administrative support to the HR team, as needed.
