Dr. Bates,
My name is Jill Esau and I am the assistant director of the University of
<http://www.isr.umich.edu/gradprogram/>
Michigan's Program in Survey <http://www.isr.umich.edu/gradprogram/>
Methodology. The Program in Survey
Methodology has a partnership with The Joint Program in Survey Methodology
<http://www.jpsm.umd.edu/jpsm/> (JPSM),
located at the University of Maryland, College Park.
JPSM is the nation's oldest and largest program offering graduate training
in the principles and practices of survey research. Founded in 1993, it is
sponsored
by the Federal Interagency Consortium on Statistical Policy and located at
the
University of Maryland. To date, it has more than 160 graduates working in
government
agencies, academic settings, and private survey research firms. Its
award-winning
faculty is drawn from the University <http://www.umd.edu/> of Maryland, the
University of Michigan <http://www.umich.edu> , Westat,
and other organizations.
The director of the Michigan Program in Survey Methodology and the
University of Maryland's Joint Program in Survey Methodology will be
attending
the Bowie State University Graduate/Professional
<http://www.experience.com/emp/cf_details?fhnd=4063> School Information Day
2009
on Wednesday, October 14, from 9:30am-1:00pm. The event will be held in the
Martin Luther King building commons area.
Both the University of Michigan Program in Survey Methodology and
the Joint Program in Survey Methodology offer programs of study at the
doctoral and
master's levels. The PhD and MS programs prepare students for careers in
private and
academic survey research firms, government agencies, and corporations. The
certificate
program is designed to provide students with specialized knowledge in
survey methodology to enhance skills in current positions and to expand
career opportunities.
We would appreciate your sharing this information with any students or
colleagues that you feel may be interested in learning more about our
Program.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Jill
