The Senior Test Developer is a key function within Test Development. This position is responsible for providing direction to staff in developing and maintaining certification/licensing examinations and performing reviews and test updates. The senior test developer is expected to assume responsibility for complex client programs and work collaboratively, both in person and virtually, with other members of the test development team and cross functionally with client services and publishing teams in scheduling work and gathering requirements to ensure client satisfaction. In addition, facilitating in-person and virtual meetings with client representatives and/or subject matter experts is a central part of the job. Examples of tasks include test specification and exam content outline development, item writing, item referencing, item bank maintenance,  preparation of materials for item review workshops and workshop participation as needed, preparation of exam forms for Test Production and conduct of standard setting studies.

Essential Functions:
* Provide leadership to staff in designing and developing assessments that are valid and reliable
¾ Assume responsibility for complex assessment programs
¾ Research primary sources in the development of new and revised items and outlines
* Monitor regulatory activity and industry practices to identify changes that may affect the exam outlines and items.
* Write and edit exam items, including assigning item attributes as needed.
* Utilize proprietary Prometric graphic software in developing and scoring items
* Prepare precise computer files using various commercial and in-house software applications, such as item-banking software and test administration and scoring software.
* Perform detailed tasks with an extremely high degree of accuracy.
* Follow established procedures and guidelines, and comply with item security practices.
* Monitor the master schedule: adhering to numerous absolute deadlines.
* Facilitate in-person and web-based client meetings
* Represent Prometric in client meetings, internal departmental and cross-functional meetings
* Prepare workshop materials and conduct post-meeting follow-up
Desired Skills and Experience
* Master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology;  educational psychology: educational measurement: education: linguistics;  English or any related field
* Have a minimum of 5 years of previous experience working in the test development industry, preferable with licensure and/or certification organizations;
* Previous experience in direct client interactions.
* Previous work experience successfully coordinating client-focused activities for a large number of domestic and international clients.
* Skills in item development and item reviewing
* Demonstrated knowledge in test design and basic psychometric theory
*  Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products and database software
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent knowledge of English vocabulary and grammar
* Ability to think globally
* Ability to work independently and as a team member
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong organizational and problem solving abilities
* Ability to work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines
* Proven dependability and high regard for security
* Ability to meet quality, service and productivity metrics

Prometric-Specific Expectations of the Test Developer:
* The Test Developer must spend a minimum of 75% of working hours physically in the office.
* The Test Developer must work normal office hours and have the ability to work extra hours when necessary to meet deadlines
* The Test Developer must be able to travel domestically and on occasion internationally as projects require
