Conference & mentoring opportunity for graduate students interested in program evaluation

Students: Evaluation Conference Opportunity!

The American Evaluation Association has established a Pipeline program to expand the number of evaluators from under-represented groups with respect to race, ethnicity, disability, and sexual orientation, and to increase awareness of the role cultural diversity plays in evaluation. Together, Baltimore Area Evaluators (BAE), Washington Evaluators (WE) and AEA will support 25 students to attend the AEA annual meeting in Baltimore, MD: November 7-10, 2007.

  a.. Register at no cost to participate in the 2007 AEA annual meeting in Baltimore 
  b.. Attend a Pipeline program orientation & luncheon the morning of November 7th. 
  c.. <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->Register for a free pre-conference workshop of their choice 
  d.. Receive a one-year AEA membership  
  e.. Receive a one-year BAE or WE membership  
  f.. <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->Receive AEA-sponsored publications through the year  
  g.. Meet and mingle with student and professional evaluators          
  h.. Have an opportunity to connect with a professional evaluator as a mentor during the conference and throughout the academic year 
Eligibility:

Applicants should be full-time graduate students* at a college or university in the Baltimore or DC metropolitan areas. Special consideration will be given to students from colleges and universities in Baltimore City and Baltimore County; however, at least 5 of the participants may come from institutions elsewhere in Maryland and in DC. All applicants must be able to commute to and from the Baltimore conference site.    

*Outstanding applications from senior undergraduates will be considered.

Visit the AEA website at http://www.eval.org/ to learn more about AEA and to review the draft conference schedule (which will be posted after July 3).



Applications are due by September 28, 2007.
