The Maryland Dept. of Budget and Management's Recruitment and
Examination Division is seeking applicants for a half-time Employee
Selection Specialist I (ESS I).  This vacancy is located in the State
office complex on the outskirts of Downtown Baltimore, a few blocks from
the University of Baltimore. The ESS I is the fully proficient level of
highly complex technical work in the construction and validation of
employment examinations in conformity with rigorous legal and technical
guidelines and requirements.  Included among the incumbent's
responsibilities are: conducting job analyses, developing recruitment
and assessment materials, and performing statistical analyses.  To be
considered for ESS I, applicants must have undergraduate or graduate
level coursework in I/O Psychology, statistics, psychometrics, research
design, general psychology, personnel administration or other job
related areas as well as one year of experience in the construction and
validation of employee selection devices. This position includes State
benefits (on a prorated basis).  Applications must be received by C.O.B.
