helping to get the word out.
Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
Are you considering a career in the Human Resources field?
Curious about the different roles you can play in this career path?
Please join the University of Baltimore's student chapter of the Human
Resources Society on Wednesday, Dec. 10, for a talk with Karen Drake,
UB's newly appointed Officer for Faculty Work Life and Personnel
Initiatives in the Office of the Provost, as she discusses career
opportunities in the HR profession. Drake's talk will begin at 5:30 p.m.
in Room 233 in the Business Center. All UB students are welcome; please
R.S.V.P. by sending an e-mail to the address below.
Karen Drake has nearly 20 years' experience in high-level management for
the organizations' human resources component. In her current position,
she is assisting the University in the development of strategies for
faculty recruitment and retention - a critical area of concern as UB
continues to grow and change. Among her areas of expertise is helping
employees address work/life balance issues, which is increasingly seen
as a top priority in workplaces of all kinds.
Drake's previous HR experience includes work for the Peace Corps at its
headquarters in Washington, D.C. She holds a master of science degree in
Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of Baltimore and
a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and International Affairs from
Muskingum College in Ohio.
To R.S.V.P. for this event, please send an e-mail to
